Reloads for practice

Hi all,

I am a 7 year participant, the last 2 as coach for our county's shotgun team. Question about reloads for practice. I have read the rules and while I am NOT reloading certified, I have some parents that do reload for their kids to use at practice. In my 7 years of being involved, we have always had a few that reload for practice, then gear up with factory for shoots.

Is there a restrictive on using reloads for practice? I understand the safety factor, etc, but "Da Rules" state "Ammunition is subject to inspection by the referee or shoot management." Since I am not a referee or a "shoot management" agent, am I required to mandate no reloaded shotgun ammo will be shot at practice?

thanks for asking this. I've been wondering the same thing myself. I've been trying to get reload certified myself, but haven't had any luck with them getting a class together.

Hello all,

Reloaded shotgun shells must have documentation that the person who reloaded them has taken a 4-H Reloading Certification class....even when used in practice.

Shells can blow up just as easily in practice as they can during a match.
